You may have heard the term manifestation thrown around lately. There are enough books on manifestation to fill a library. But just what is manifestation? Whether you’ve been manifesting successfully for years, or you’re new to the topic, today we hope to share some insight into the principles of manifestation.
Simply put, manifestation is turning a thought or desire into its physical equivalent. In other words, if you can dream it or imagine it, you can use the power of manifestation to create it in your life.
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” ~Henry David Thoreau
The word manifestation comes from the Latin root “manifestare” which means “make public.” So when you manifest, you make your goals and dreams public. You stop daydreaming about them and bring them into the physical world.
Whether you realize it or not, you are always manifesting, Whether you’re thinking on the bright side, or negative doom and gloom scenarios dominate your thoughts, you are manifesting your reality. The dominating thought pattern will manifest itself. Intentional manifesting requires you to deliberately shift your dominating thought patterns to support the reality you want to create. You may be currently living something close to that reality, or you may be looking to change your life in meaningful ways.
The Law of Attraction helps explain the energy behind manifestation. You’ve heard the phrases “birds of a feather flock together” and “like attracts like.” Essentially, this means energy of the same type attracts more of the same energy. Negative energy attracts negative energy, and positive energy attracts positive energy.
All living things in The Universe are in a constant state of vibration. When you experience an elevated emotional state such as happiness, joy, love and freedom, your subatomic particles are vibrating at peak velocity. It’s a good vibration. When you’re experiencing a low-vibration mood such as sadness, anger, resentment, or guilt, your vibrations are much slower.
We subconsciously broadcast our vibration every day, all day long. Think about it, when your partner or child walks into the room after a bad day at work or school, you can see the black cloud hanging over them. And you know when they’re feeling good.
If your goal is to live a life of positivity and happiness, you will need to elevate your vibrations to good vibrations. And according to the law of attraction, those happy vibes will attract people and opportunities that will align with your goals.
How to manifest your dreams into reality requires you to follow three basic steps. If you follow them consistently, you will follow your inner guidance and see tangible results.
The first step in the manifestation process is to put a name to your goal. Establish your purpose. Reflect upon your motivation and reasons for selecting that goal. For instance, if you want a better paying job, ask yourself:
By asking and answering these questions, you can help motivate yourself when things get tough.
This may seem obvious, but while you set your goals and your personal action items, you need to plan for success. This includes:
The last step in manifestation is to be open and allow aligned people and opportunities to present themselves. Don’t give up if it seems like you’ve been waiting forever to manifest your goal. Maintain your patience, faith, and focus. Know and trust that you deserve and are capable of creating the life you daydream about. All that positive energy will attract opportunities. Then you just have to reach out and grab them!
There are some common manifestation techniques that millions of people before you have found useful. They include:
Auto-suggestion is when you train your subconscious mind to help you achieve your goal, through positive self-affirmations. You’re telling your subconscious mind what it should be focusing on, and communicating that to The Universe.
Examples of positive affirmations include:
Meditation is easier than you think. Besides helping with manifestation, meditation has numerous benefits. Meditation helps you train your mind to focus on one thing, which is important in manifesting your dreams.
Get comfortable and find a focus -- that could be a positive affirmation, visualizing your goal, or a spot in the distance, Meditation will make you more aware of your thoughts, allowing you to correct the ones that do not support your dreams.
Journaling is the act of writing your thoughts down. Positive thoughts and journaling about what is going well and what is working can be helpful to refer back to in tough times. Journaling is also a very effective way to reveal, release, and resolve unhelpful or negative thoughts and emotions. Write down what is bugging you, and why. Let it all out. You can tear up or burn the page after you’re done writing so no one can see your highly personal thoughts.
