It seems to happen so quickly… Our long, extended days begin to shorten bit by bit, the air catches a cool little drift, the leaves on the trees begin to shift and fall. It’s not long after the peak of August that we begin to feel those seasonal shifts, perhaps literally, and always energetically.
August always seems to be packed with activity and summer fun… Leo brings us love and life and fiery movement!
Virgo with September brings us back to a more grounded space- We begin to look forward, make plans, and slow down again. It’s the tipping point toward that inward journey. The light and sunshine are usually still there, but there tends to be a palpable energy that begins to whisper… Slow down… Time to check in.
For many, it’s back to school… It’s organizing and reality checks and creating new intentions for what always feels like a new year.
Rituals feel important during these seasonal shifts. Ceremonial celebrations to honour the new energy moving in.
We have generated a few of our favourite rituals to inspire you- to help you bring more sacred acts of intention and habit into your life.
We invite you to move in flow with us… In tune with our natural rhythms and seasonal shifts.
Mushroom Roots Latte
In 40-50oz of filtered or spring water add: small handful dried reishi, small handful dried maitake, 1 tbsp burdock root, 1 tbsp dandelion root, 1 tbsp dried galangal root, 1 small thumb of fresh chopped ginger, 1 small thumb of fresh chopped turmeric root, and 2 fresh cinnamon sticks.
Bring to a boil then turn heat to as low as it goes and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Turn heat off and steep another 30-60 minutes. Once brew is finished, strain through a nut mylk bag and squeeze to get out as much liquid as you can -(she likes to save her herbs for a double extraction to make a slightly weaker tea).
Bring 12-16oz of the brew back up to a warm temperature and add in 1/4 cup of oat or coconut milk for a single serving. sweeten with honey to taste. Store the rest of the tea in the fridge for up to 3 days. Option to blend with 1 tsp coconut oil or grass-fed ghee. Enjoy!
May your days be full of sweetness, kind moments, and loving thoughts. Always- and especially today.
With love,
