Transitioning from Summer to Fall: Our Favourite Fall Rituals

It seems to happen so quickly… Our long, extended days begin to shorten bit by bit, the air catches a cool little drift, the leaves on the trees begin to shift and fall. It’s not long after the peak of August that we begin to feel those seasonal shifts, perhaps literally, and always energetically.

August always seems to be packed with activity and summer fun… Leo brings us love and life and fiery movement!

Virgo with September brings us back to a more grounded space- We begin to look forward, make plans, and slow down again. It’s the tipping point toward that inward journey. The light and sunshine are usually still there, but there tends to be a palpable energy that begins to whisper… Slow down… Time to check in.

For many, it’s back to school… It’s organizing and reality checks and creating new intentions for what always feels like a new year.

Rituals feel important during these seasonal shifts. Ceremonial celebrations to honour the new energy moving in.

We have generated a few of our favourite rituals to inspire you- to help you bring more sacred acts of intention and habit into your life.

We invite you to move in flow with us… In tune with our natural rhythms and seasonal shifts.

  • Jenna increases her time spent at home, spends more time connecting with and nurturing her loved ones, and gets to bed early!
  • Britt loves to harvest her plants and make medicines with them. She creates tinctures, teas, salves, and infusions for natural well-being and vitality. Her latest kick is Mushroom Roots Latte (YUM!):

Mushroom Roots Latte

In 40-50oz of filtered or spring water add: small handful dried reishi, small handful dried maitake, 1 tbsp burdock root, 1 tbsp dandelion root, 1 tbsp dried galangal root, 1 small thumb of fresh chopped ginger, 1 small thumb of fresh chopped turmeric root, and 2 fresh cinnamon sticks.

Bring to a boil then turn heat to as low as it goes and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Turn heat off and steep another 30-60 minutes. Once brew is finished, strain through a nut mylk bag and squeeze to get out as much liquid as you can -(she likes to save her herbs for a double extraction to make a slightly weaker tea).

Bring 12-16oz of the brew back up to a warm temperature and add in 1/4 cup of oat or coconut milk for a single serving. sweeten with honey to taste. Store the rest of the tea in the fridge for up to 3 days. Option to blend with 1 tsp coconut oil or grass-fed ghee. Enjoy!

  • Kyla leans into her creativity. She enjoys making art, designing jewelry, and painting.
  • Tara catches up on sleep- rest is the medicine!
  • Cecilia enjoys cooking. The fall brings her back to soups and bone broth- warming for the body and soul.
  • Steph enjoys gathering all the colorful fallen leaves and creating a “bouquet” for her altar space.
  • Hajer drinks more tea and spends more time reading… especially books for pleasure. She also loves to forage mushrooms in the forest!
  • Sarah loves pumpkin- everything! Here is one of her favourite pumpkin recipes: Pumpkin Granola
  • Need a book recommendation? Breathe by James Nestor is next on Elisha’s list… Maybe you are interested in it too! It’s getting awesome reviews!
  • Elisha spends time in nature because the crisp air and vibrant fall colours are gorgeous. She also spends time creating intentions, planning, and practicing! Baked apples, roasted veggies, and chai tea (all tea!) move into her food + drink rotation! Her favourite warm coffee replacement is a combo of this tea: Roasted Dandelion Root by Traditional Medicinals with Original Rasa Coffee Alternative with 12 adaptogenic herbs for calm and lasting energy all day. Feels good! They have a good description: What does it taste like? We say: dark, rich, & robust. Earthy, a little nutty, slightly sweet with a hint of cinnamon. A little bitter, like coffee, and has a depth of mouthfeel like coffee. (and no- we are not affiliated with them- but their product is lovely!... It’s no coffee… but it is a feel good alternative!). Elisha also LOVES making nature mandalas like this one below- Try it out!

May your days be full of sweetness, kind moments, and loving thoughts. Always- and especially today.

With love,
